1,000 Girls Initiative

Did you know that 50% of girls in Sri Lanka can’t afford menstrual hygiene products? They most likely miss school every month simply because they don’t have access to them. In both rural and urban communities, menstruation is still a taboo subject — leaving many girls to face health issues, shame, silence, and missed opportunities.

Through the 1,000 Girls Initiative, you can change that.

Your donation provides a dignity pack along with menstrual hygiene awareness sessions (*including delivery and handling charges) that helps restore confidence, protect education, and empower young girls to stay in school.

Support a girl today:

  • Support 1 Girl – LKR 4,265
  • Support 5 Girls – LKR 21,325
  • Support 10 Girls – LKR 42,650
  • Support 25 Girls – LKR 106,526

This is more than a health program. It’s about giving girls the freedom to learn, grow, and thrive — without shame, without fear of health issues, and without being left behind.

Let’s help them stay in school — with dignity.

How do we do it?

1. Identify beneficiaries by collaborating with local schools, local health authorities and Grama Niladhari Divisions.

2. Organize and deliver informative school-based awareness sessions on menstrual hygiene and management tailored to adolescent girls, aiming to reduce stigma and promote healthy practices.

3. Provide each selected girl with essential menstrual and sanitary supplies necessary for proper menstrual care.
